On 9th and 10th of March the first international technical-scientific workshop of LIFE PRIMED took place at the Botanical Garden of Rome. There was a large participation of Natura 2000/LIFE-related practitioners, researchers and decision-makers who have exchanged knowledge and good practices on the interpretation, conservation and management of EU freshwater habitats, in particular the Mediterranean temporary ponds (habitat 3170*). The participants strengthened their relationships and agreed to build a permanent platform of Mediterranean experts working with this peculiar habitat type. During the field trip to Palo Laziale which followed the workshop, the attendees participated in the translocation activities of some of the habitat keystone species.
